Amuse the djinn/genie?
Playing on the HD version, I cannot find any other friendly NPCs other than Ali Mustouf in either section of the Cave of the Djinn, and he doesn't seem very bored. Am I missing something?

He's in a part of the Cave of the Djinn you get to from a hole in the ground in Reefs of Sailors' Blood.
But, you cannot go down that hole unless you have a Tattered Old Map. If you have the map, step on the grass to the immediate south of the hole and you should be able then to go down the hole.

I found the cave, but for some reason was expecting a regular NPC. It took a rather embarrassing amount of time to finally find him in there.
Never underestimate djinns!
