Make a deal
I go the "Make a deal" quest early on but I've never been able to get anything from Death other than a long remark ending "Are you so mesmerized by me that you lack the will to go forward?". Is there something I'm missing. At this point I have also [SPOILER] decided not to kill Malin, so I don't know if I can get the rapier from Death anymore. But also before that decision was made, I was never able to get anything else from Death.

If he says that, he should have given you the rapier at the same time that he gave you the quest, Death's Sweetest Kiss. He threatens to take it away but never does. You can buy it from Phredd if you need it.
